Today we focus on Instagram for business. Don’t know where to start? Here are a few tips when creating an account for your business.

  1. Create a winning account

Your @handle should be very easy to remember but also that relates to your business name. Use a good profile picture, a creative logo perhaps. When adding the description, make sure it is interesting and motivates others to follow you. Describe what type of content you will post, what the business is about and most importantly a website link if available. Update the profile often, change your website link, to events or any other article update.

  1. Take your followers behind the scenes

People like to see what the business has to offer, but posting behind the scene pictures makes it more interesting and personal for your followers. This does not have to happen often, but it surely will make your followers want to see more!

  1. Make use of relevant #Hashtags

Expand your reach by using relevant hashtags. Also, create or set up your company hashtag. Use this when posting your content. This way,  followers can find all your related content. Make use of the generic hashtags such as #MondayMotivation etc.

  1. @Mention and collaborate with others

Instagram is one of the strongest social media channels for highlighting collaborators and sharing customer success stories. People who see your business collaborate or mention others might even repost your content. This makes your business awareness grow

  1. Build anticipation

Your followers would want to see new things happening within your business. Keep them in suspense! Post one or two previews and make them wonder what’s next. Whether it be an event you are hosting or a product you will soon be launching. Your Instagram followers should feel that they get to see exclusive content before anyone else does.

  1. Check your analytics

See when your followers are online the most and plan your content schedule according to that. You can see who your majority of followers are (male or female, age etc.).
