Samsung has officially revealed the long awaited Galaxy S III at an event in London. The slim powered Galaxy S III features a sizable 4.8-inch 720p HD super AMOLED display along with a 1.9-megapixel front-facing camera mounted right above it. Inside
its slim 8.6mm thick frame is the recently revealed 1.4 GHz Exynos 4 Quad chipset. 1GB of RAM, 16 or 32GB of storage, a 2100 mAh battery, and radios for Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi, and NFC connectivity. At the back of the device is an 8-megapixel camera pod.
Hardware and Software of Galaxy S III
It is said that the Galaxy S III is made almost entirely of plastic. The design is made to be inspired by nature with rounded corners at the top and bottom. It comes in two different versions – the blue version and the white version. The square camera can be found at the back of the phone with a speaker on the right and microUSB can be accessed at the bottom. The phone is very thin – 34-inches with a very light weight, considering the size of the display.
The Samsung Galaxy S III is packed with great software features:
Pop Up Player – This feature allows you to continue playing a video in a smaller window on your screen while busy with another task. This is an amazing feature because multi-tasking is very important to most smartphone users.
Flipboard is pre-oaded on the device, as are plenty of the carrier apps. For those who are unfamiliar with this app – Flipboard is a social-network aggregation, magazine-format application software for ANdiod and iOS.
S Voice – I’m seriously impressed with this feature set. It allows you to make commands with your voice. How cool is that?
The phone also dims brightness when it is put down, saving you battery power. It gives a little extra alert when you’ve been away from your phone or if you’ve missed a call or message.
The last thing I would like to mention is the performance. Samsung Galaxy S III beats every Android phone (in my opininion and many others). Where browsing is concerned, the Galaxy S III pulled in a score of 103,780 compared to the One S’s 100,662. Compared to most phones, however, the GSIII wins by a long shot as it is usually seen scores around the 60,000 mark. From CPU to memory to graphics, the Galaxy S III It is named the fastest phone in the market at the moment.
